As you’ve probably noticed, Tags does not have a keyboard shortcut. Assigning a keyboard shortcut for Tags in OS X is a relatively easy process. Straight to a demo. Soooooo, Let's Get Started. To assign a keyboard shortcut for Tags, simply open System Preferences and click on the Keyboard icon. Then click on the Shortcuts tab. Next, click on the App Shortcuts option and then the plus button, shown here. Now, from the pop-up dialogue window, click on the pop-up menu for Application and select Finder. Then, for Menu Title:, enter the exact name of the menu command you want to add, which in our case is "Tags…" followed by three periods or press Option-semi-colon for the ellipsis. Finally, enter a keyboard shortcut for the Tags option, I'll enter Option-cmd-T, then click on the Add button. And that’s all there is to it, anytime you want to add Tags to Files and Folders, simply press Option-cmd-T.
