Turn On or Off, the Dark mode feature in OS X Yosemite, using a simple keyboard command. Straight to a demo, showing how it’s done. Sooooooo, Let’s Get Started. In summary, for those of you currently unaware, Yosemite has a Dark mode feature. To enable it, launch System Preferences, then, click on General icon and place a check mark next to “Use dark menu bar and Dock”, as shown here. This can become a bit tedious, especially, if you find that you need to enable or disable, Dark mode, on regularly basis. Instead, you might find it handy, to turn On or Off, the Dark mode feature, using a simple keyboard command: ctrl-option-cmd-T To do so, launch Terminal and type the following one line command shown here. defaults write -g _HIEnableThemeSwitchHotKey 1 For changes to take effect, log out and in again. Now, whenever you press, ctrl-option-cmd-T, you are able to, turn On or Off, Dark mode. Incidentally, to deactivate the keyboard command, type the following in Terminal: defaults delete -g _HIEnableThemeSwitchHotKey And, once again, for changes to take effect, log out and in again. And that’s all there is to it. Thanks for watching and thumbs-up if you liked this video, and please, don't forget to subscribe to be notified of the next episode. Thanks and Peace.
