Let’s jump right in with a Demo. Soooooooo, Let’s Get Started. I’ll just run a script to open various windows and then slide up with three fingers on the Trackpad to bring the following web page to the front. Now, to activate Split Screen from the Desktop, simply press and hold down on the Green button, shown, and move the Window to either the right or left sides of the shaded blue area, then release the button. Once an area is chosen for the Window, an Exposé is shown of the remaining Windows. Simply choose the Window you want to appear next to the first window. Resize the Split Screens accordingly, by holding down on the divider shown here. Next, in El Capitan, there’s a new way of moving a Window to a new Desktop space. Normally in OS X and depending on your settings from System Preferences, swiping up with three fingers on the Trackpad, double tapping with two fingers on the Magic mouse or pressing the Mission Control button on your keyboard, brings you to Mission Control, where you can drag a Window to a new Space. However, in El Capitan, the process has become a lot easier. Basically, while on the Desktop, move a Window past the top of the screen and voilà, you brought to Mission Control, where you drop the selected Window to a new Space. While in Mission Control, you can now bring a Window to full screen by simply dragging and dropping it onto the Desktop spaces area. Furthermore, dragging another Window onto a full screen Desktop space, will create a Split screen view as shown. And that’s all there is to it, using Mission Control and Split Screen in El Capitan couldn’t be more simple.
