In previous versions of OS X, three finger drag using the MacBook or Magic Trackpad, was enabled by opening System Preferences and clicking on the Trackpad icon shown here, then, under the Point & Click tab bar, check the box: Three finger drag. However, in OS X El Capitan, this setting has moved. Straight to a demo. Soooooooo, Let's Get Started. Three finger drag option in El Capitan can now be found by simply opening System Preferences, and click on the Accessibility icon, then scroll down and click on the Mouse & Trackpad heading. Now click on the “Trackpad Options…” button shown here . From the pop-up dialog window, check the box “Enable dragging”. Then from the dropdown list shown, select three finger drag.
